Our story

A little about us.

Good people. Cold water. A little less lonely.

When I moved to Malmö, I found myself struggling to meet people. The friendship apps weren’t it; what I really wanted was a community. Somewhere I could show up regularly, see familiar faces and build real friendships over time.

Back in Copenhagen, some of my favourite mornings were spent cold dipping with friends. So, I thought, why not bring a little bit of that to Malmö?

In August 2026, Hej Tide was born. What started as a few strangers meeting by the sea on a Wednesday morning has grown into a community showing up for the same simple things: cold water, good conversation and human connection.

Because sometimes, all it takes to feel a little less alone is having somewhere to be, and someone who’s happy to see you.

What matters to us:

  1. Connection

Making space for genuine human relationships.

  2. Courage

Choosing a little discomfort, in the water and beyond it.

  3. Belonging

Creating a place where everyone feels welcome.

  4. Consistency

Showing up for each other, week after week.

Our mission

Less loneliness. More connection. One morning at a time.

We're here to help tackle loneliness and support mental wellbeing by creating welcoming, accessible spaces where people can come together in real life.

No big commitments. No expectations. Just a reason to get out of bed, spend some time outdoors and connect with the people around us.

We believe something as simple as showing up, week after week, can make a real difference.

Where the tide takes us

Hej Tide might have started on the shores of Malmö, but we hope it doesn't end here.

Our dream is to bring the same sense of connection and community to more places across Sweden, giving more people a reason to get outside, meet someone new and feel like they belong.

We're still figuring out where this little idea might take us, and that's part of the fun.

For now, we'll keep showing up on Wednesday mornings.

And you're always welcome to join us.
